Exploring eating disorders in young people, recognising some of the warning signs, understanding some of the risks, and learning a number of techniques to support early intervention and recovery effectively.

Description

This workshop is designed to support parents and carers in understanding eating disorders in young people and the impact they can have on health, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.

It explores common types of eating disorders, early warning signs, and risk factors, helping participants recognise when a young person may need support.

The session provides practical strategies for approaching sensitive conversations, offering reassurance, and responding appropriately without escalating concerns.

It also signposts to relevant UK support services and guidance.

The workshop is delivered by someone who has come through this challenge as a teenager, in a clear, supportive format, enabling parents and carers to feel more confident in identifying concerns and taking appropriate early action.
