1 Day Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course

This course meets the EYFS requirements for Emergency Paediatric First Aid. However, IT WILL NOT meet the Paediatric First Aider staffing ratio requirements in all early years settings, as a 12-hour Paediatric First Aid qualification would be required.

Description

This 1-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course provides the essential skills to respond to emergencies. 

Some roles and settings require the full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid qualification, whilst others can utilise Emergency Paediatric First Aid in accordance with EYFS requirements.

Ths 1 day course covers:

Assessing an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take

• Helping a baby/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.

• Helping a baby/child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.

• Helping a baby/child who is having a seizure.

• Helping a baby/child who is choking.

• Helping a baby/child who is bleeding.

• Helping a baby/child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock).
