1 Day Blended Forest School First Aid Course
This FAIB-accredited 1 Day Blended Forest School First Aid course is designed for Forest School leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, outdoor learning practitioners, childminders, volunteers and anyone responsible for children and young people in outdoor environments.
The course combines flexible online learning with a practical classroom session, allowing learners to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills required to respond effectively to a range of first aid emergencies that may occur during Forest School activities and outdoor learning sessions.
Course Content
- The role of the first aider
- First aid priorities and incident management
- Assessing an emergency situation
- Casualty assessment
- Recovery position
- Adult, child and infant CPR
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Choking management
- Unconscious casualty
- Seizures and epilepsy
- Asthma and anaphylaxis
- Diabetes and other medical conditions
- Minor and severe bleeding
- Shock
- Burns and scalds
- Head injuries
- Fractures, sprains and strains
- Eye injuries
- Bites and stings
- Environmental injuries including hypothermia and heat-related illness
- Outdoor incident considerations and emergency planning
Certification
Upon successful completion, learners will receive an FAIB Forest School First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years.
