Description

This regulated, nationally recognised qualification gives learners everything they need to become an appointed First Aider in the workplace.
It’s ideal for anyone who’s expected to respond in an emergency at work, as well as people who support voluntary groups, community organisations, clubs, or public events.

Learners spend three days building practical skills and confidence through hands-on training, real-life scenarios, and guided practice from our qualified tutors.


What Learners Will Cover

Across the 3-day course, learners will develop the competence to handle a wide range of first aid situations, including:

  • How to assess an incident safely and take control of the situation

  • Primary survey and secondary survey (checking for dangers, breathing, injuries, etc.)

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty (with and without breathing)

  • Adult CPR using the latest guidelines

  • Safe use of an AED (defibrillator)

  • Dealing with choking in adults

  • Recognising and responding to heart attacks and angina

  • Managing shock, fainting, and circulation issues

  • Head injuries and spinal considerations

  • Fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations

  • Wounds and bleeding (including catastrophic bleeding)

  • Burns and scalds

  • Seizures and epilepsy

  • Anaphylaxis and correct use of auto-injectors

  • Stroke recognition (FAST test)

  • Minor injuries such as cuts, grazes, splinters and bruising

  • Illnesses and medical emergencies commonly seen in the workplace

  • How to record incidents, complete workplace reports, and follow company procedures
