The course brings learners back up to speed with the essential first aid skills they need, making sure they remain confident, capable and ready to respond in an emergency.

  • Using an AED (defibrillator) with confidence

  • Choking emergencies and what to do when back blows don’t work

  • Dealing with catastrophic bleeding and major trauma

  • Shock, fainting and circulation issues

  • Stroke recognition using the FAST test

  • Seizures, medical emergencies and workplace illness

  • Wounds, bleeding, burns & fractures – refresher on correct techniques

  • How to record incidents and follow your organisation's reporting procedures
